Sketch Challenge 583 | Bunny Birthday Card

For todays Sketch Challenge 583 I made a card with some old and loved stamp set. On top of the new stamps I bought, I have a little stack of stamps that I found in my stash that I just want to play with soon. This card started in that stack. I have started to sit in my sofa and color in the evenings, just to have something to do and also practise my coloring. Which also mean that I test out new color combinations.

This time around I choose the cutest little bunnies from the Somebunny stamp set, and after coloring I wanted to play around with my white gel pen to add some patterns. When the Sketch Challenge 583 was announced I decided that I wanted to use my colored up bunnies.

To match the style that I have been playing with lately I decided to use Tattered Rose Distress Ink for blending, mostly because it matched perfectly with the coloring of those cute bunnies dresses. And instead of making squares in the corners I blended some ovals over an old MFT stencil and then blended a little bit on top of that blending with out the stencil just to soften the pattern. And added on bunny in each corner.

To finish it off I white embossed a sentiment on some neenah, blended the Tattered Rose Ink over it and cut it to a flag. I mounted it on foam squares in the middle of the card.

If you want to see more cards from previous Sketch Challenges you can find them HERE.

Sketch Challenge 582 | The Best Birthday Ever

With everything going on in the world this card was hard to create, I even considered just not to do it. But at the same time being creative can help mentally. It’s not my best card, but I do like it. I followed the sketch challenge 582 over at My Favorite Things.

I want to finish this by saying. I know that I sit safety here in Sweden, but I’m so scared over what is going on in Ukraine. Ukraine is a free democratic country and I hope that it will stay that way.

Sketch Challenge 581 | I Camp Believe

Going into every sketch challenge I have a little list of supplies to pick from to have a head start before I see how the sketch look. With this weeks sketch challenge 581, that all flu out of the door. When I saw the challenge I saw the way I wanted to make the card in my head immediately. I just needed to use the Adorable Adventure stamp set. Happily enough the stamps fitted perfectly with the different levels of the sketch. Then we had the color scheme, which was the easiets. Have been using the G40s and E40s a lot lately and they fitted the images perfectly, I added the Ts for the grey and whites and finally B0000 for the snow on the mountains.

For the base of the levels I used my new favorite ink color, Sno Cone to blend over some cloud masks I made with the Cloud Trio Die-namics. Before blending I also masked off the card base so I only had the three different stripes. I then colored up a whole bunch of stamped images from the Adorable Adventure and fussy cut them out. I placed them on the different levels and then I stamped a sentiment on the bottom.

Sketch Challenge 580 – Will You Be My Valentine?

Sometimes a card takes minutes, sometimes days and sometimes even weeks. I have had the basic idea of what I wanted for awhile. It wasn’t until I saw this weeks sketch challenge 580 over at My Favorite Things that the last piece come together.

I picked up some new stamps in January, and I stamped them and colored them in front of the tv. I have already used the bears from the same stamp set, but I really liked how I colored up the bunnies in the boat. So I have been waiting to use that image. I did try last week to make something with them, but the card wasn’t balanced and I decided to use another image.

But this time it all came together. I also got to use two new stencils I hadn’t used yet. If you don’t recognise the little waves in the heart, that is because that haul is coming up on Wednesday. Hope you enjoy the card and if you wanna see how I interpreted previous challenges you will find them HERE.

Sketch Challenge 579 | Magical Dragon

It’s Monday so here is my next entry into My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge, nummer 579. This time around I ended up both turning the sketch upside down and mirrored it. All because I wanted to use this specific dragon from the Magical Friends stamp set.

I wanted to use some strong and bright colors again. It’s been my vibe these past few weeks so why stop a winning concept, well I at least like my creations. So I made a green dragon. And when coloring something that big, like this dragon, sometimes your blends won’t blend as well as for small images. A quick and effective way to hide the bad blend is dots! This also is a cute effect for a dragon as it looks a little like it’s scales.

Handmade card with grass on bottom made from multiple layer of pattern paper with a dragon sitting on top and thinking about a castle and a sentiment you make my life magical

Hope you like my card! What in card making makes you inspired? For me it’s color!

Sketch Challenge 578 | You Made Me in to a We

Seeing the new sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things I directly got an idea in my head. I wanted to turn it upside down and use the Stitched Clouds Edges Die-namics on the top. That die is since retired but the Stitched Rolling Clouds Edges Die-namics is a perfect dupe. For the half circle I use one of my sun dies, sadly they no longer have any sun dies. But it fitted so perfectly!

The last thing was the little circles on the bottom. For those I used the swinging bears from the stamp-set “I’m So in Love with You, Still“. I also used the sentiment from the same stamp-set, “You Made Me in to a We” and white embossed it on some sno cone card stock. As a final touch i blended some sno cone ink underneath the clouds to give it some dimension. And with that same ink I stamped the teeny tiny hearts around the bears.

Are you joining the sketch challenge? Would love to see your take on the challenges. Want to see other sketch challenges I have participated in? You can find them HERE.

My Person | MFT Sketch Challenge 577

I truly believe that if cats could talk they would call us, “my person”. You don’t own them they own you. And of course they would claim your friends and family too! So thought it would be fun to make a card from the cats instead of me.

You would be surprised on how much I struggled with this card. I made four or five versions, feeling that not one of them was what I was trying to make. Then I saw a reel on instagram from wow embossing powder, they where using some kind of water reactive powder and I got struct by the beautiful color scheme. They’re final result was completely different, but I took the color scheme and did a splatter technique in the colors on my main rectangle.

For the layout I followed the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 577 and the little kitties was for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, “Four Legged Friends”. But who am I kidding have been adding cats on almost all my creations lately, they are so cute!

Which kind of stamps have you been drawn to lately?

If you want to see all MFT Challenges I have participated in you can see them HERE

High Flying Valentines | All the challenges

Just as last weeks Monday card, this week card is inspired by challenges. Not one, not two but three challenges. It started with a sketch, I loved the My Favorite Things sketch this week so just needed to have a play. Then I looked at the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges and the card started to come together.

The My Favorite Things sketch is two circles intersecting the edges of the card, and I toppled it over to get a little bit more room. Simon Says Stamps Monday challenge is “Transport It” and at the top of my mind I saw the airplane from High Flying Adventure Stamp Set by My Favorite Things. And finally Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge is “Fun with Stencils” and I decided to fill the circles with clouds for the airplane.

I chose to go with a pink color scheme as I’m working on all the valentines projects right now, and this got to be one too. I had so much fun doing this, hope you enjoy the card too!

Some other fun valentines projects I worked on in the past is, Valentine Accordion Card | Hug It Out, Happy Valentines Day | One Idea Two Cards | Slimeline Card with Banners and Tutorial: Valentine Paperclip Flags.

Card with two inked blended circles with clouds inside one in the upper left corner one, in in the lower middle. A stamped airplane with a bunny in and flags on the side. Sentiment in the lower right saying "I'd Fly Anywhere to See You" 5 hearts sprinkled around the white areas

Jump for Joy – MFT Sketch Challenge 575

Jumping out of the gate with an entry for a sketch challenge! First card for the year and 8 months, sorry about that but will tell you why another day. This post is all about this little appreciation card. I haven’t participated in a challenge in a long long time. When I saw My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 575 the cogs in my brain started wiring.

But as it usually goes the initial idea that I had was not what came out. Instead when I opened my drawer, where I keep my MFT Stamps, I saw the Friendly Unicorns. And all I could see was the unicorns jumping over a fence. And that was what I ended up creating, by turning the sketch upside down it fitted in the challenge. By the way I have used this stamp before, when I made my Shadow Box Card Tutorial.

Hope you enjoy this first card of the year, first of many! Hope you all have had an awesome start of the new year, mine started with a light case of rona, but I’m feeling better now. So look forward to a bunch of cards coming soon to a blog and channel near you.
