Fairy With Bottle

Hi!

It’s release day over at Little Blue Button Stamps and I’m here with a notecard for you. I really have been loving using bright and bold colours lately, and todays card is no different. Using those fluorescent colours (actually I use one of the fluorescent copics in her hair). I let this project be a simple notecard, with a black matt so you’ll need a white gel pen to write on it.

Ice Cream Emma

Hi!

I’m here with a new card, really loved working with the papers I used for the wedding card that was shared on the Paper Nest Dolls Facebook page the other week with Prom Avery, so I thought I would use them again and pair them with sweet Ice Cream Emma for a birthday card. Todays image is coloured with copics and a few Faber Castel Polychromos to add detail to the hair and add some definition to the shadows. I have also made a video showing how I colour the image and going step by step through how I put the card together.

Gift From Millie

Hi!

I have a new card for you today, it’s all about those bright strong colours. Also for the past couple of weeks I have been hopping onto the diversity bandwagon, Sandy Allnock has shared a wonderful chart for what she calls colouring the human rainbow, you can get it for free from her website. It’s all about trying to mix it up when it comes to skin colour. I have been trying to do that before, but have a way of defaulting back to caucasian skin colours I usually do, as that is a colour combo that is in my head. But after printing and colouring that chart (you can find a video of me colouring it and talking abit more about it here), I do find myself using more and more different skin colours. I have the chart laying on my table next to my colouring together with my hex chart and my copic chart. And it just makes me change things up. I also find myself using other pattern papers as different skin colours lends them self for other colour combinations for the clothes and the whole card.

Sonny Honeycloud Rocks

For this card I pulled out my distress inks, not for the character as she is coloured with copics as usually, using one of Sandy Allnocks wonderful skin colours from her coloring the human rainbow chart, adding a lighter colour for those highlights. But the background is all distress inks. Actually only three of them, the orange is made by blending the yellow and the pink and the green is made by blending the blue and the yellow, a simple but fun background.

The character is called Sonny Honeycloud Rocks and is a Little Miss Muffet Stamps stamp, it is so adorable. I loved playing with the pinks in the hair, just adding more and more different shades. Don’t forget to join the challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Challenge Blog this week, its anything goes.

Maddy With Glasses

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a tag for you all, I’m using the adorable Maddy With Glasses and being a girl with glasses myself I thought I would give her pink hair. Now for some reason you can’t see the adorable candy-floss pink hair she got on the photo, it looks greyer than in real life.

Hi Guys!

The challenge is to colour on of their Fashion Decade Digis, I choose to colour the 80s one, not only because I’m an 80s girl in so many ways but also because of that hair! Just love that hair! I also wanted to join the #thehumanrainbow movement that Sandy Allnock started, to get us colourists to start using a bigger variation of skin colours in our colouring to show the true blend of people out there. So that is something you are going to see much more from me.

Scootin Witch – Updated and with a video

Today I have a card and a video for you, this post is all about those cast shadows and I go through in the video how I thought about my cast shadows. Cast Shadows is the challenge over at Make It Colourful this month, so come on over and join us! I really like how the cast shadows on the witches tummy from the handle looks, I’m not as happy with the one on the ground, it’s to far down on the paper and a little to much near the center. But hope you’ll enjoy the video.

Marley Blooms

A while ago I bought some Faber Castel Polychromos pencils, but I haven’t used them that much so I decided that for the card today I would, but colouring with copics goes so much faster. So I went for something in between, I’m using some Neenah cardstock as it is good for both copics and pencils. The Make It Crafty cardstock I usually use for colouring with copics have to little “teeth” for me to get good results with my polys (which could just be me as I’m very new to them). I knew I just needed to use Marley Blooms and doesn’t that flower look awesome with those pencils creating some extra depth. I didn’t keep track on the pencils used but you have the copic listed down below.

Copic:
Mouse: W0, W1, W3, R01, R31, R32

Scootin Witch

The new challenge over at Make It Colourful this month is Cast Shadows, it’s a really fun challenge as most things casts a shadow and this is a good way of practising finding where the light is. The creation I did this time isn’t really a card, it’s just colouring, and that is the nifty thing about these challenges, you don’t need to make a card, you can just colour to your hearts content. I like how this image turned out, but every time I pass it on my table I feel that it needs something more. So today you get the coloured image, and in a couple of days you are getting a video of the colouring and hopefully an updated image where I added some more details to the background, kind of kicking it up a notch.
