Happy Purr-thday

Hi Guys!

I don’t know how many times I said this, but I love challenges! And I love combining challenges, the more things I need to but together to work in a card I see the more excited I get. My Favorite Things always have two challenges going at one time, a sketch challenge and a color challenge. Today I combine the active challenges into one card. The tip in my video today is how I make a diecut longer by partial diecutting.

Hello Summer!

Hi Guys! I’m a total Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy fan and when I saw that Barbara (owner of Little Miss Muffet Stamps) had made some Towel Day Images I knew that I needed to make something with them. Sadly I didn’t have time to get them done to Towel Day that was this week but I thought that they could be used for other occasions, like a summer card, he does have a bath towel with him. And as it now happens, Simon Says Stamps flickr challenge is Summertime Fun, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone. The colour scheme on Douglas is a very neutral brown, white and blue one. That makes him easier to place on any cards you want, today I wanted to use the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid blues as I feel they are very summery. With that I choose to use the Flip Flop Season stamp set by Simon Says Stamp to make the card even more summery and fun! The sentiment and the flip flops are stamped on different kind of papers and in the video I show you how the copics blend differently on the two papers. Hope you’ll enjoy the card and the video. Btw if you haven’t seen it yet, you can now subscribe to a newsletter so every time I post a new card you will get an email in your inbox.

Tulips | No-Line Watercoloring with Distress Inks

Hi Guys!

Today is another release for Little Blue Button Stamps, and one of the releases is these gorgeous tulips. I have printed them as a watermark in a word document(I use open office but they work the same) to get the lines as faded as I could. I printed on some 180 gsm watercolour cardstock with my laser-printer, my choice of paper was so it would go through my printer. To see my process watch the video down below.

Coralia

Hi Guys!

Marika here with a CAS card, on this card I want to show you that you can use both colour and texture but still keep it clean and simple. I love mermaids, and the last mermaid release was no exception they are so wonderful!

I choose to keep a colour scheme that got me thinking about the sea with blues, blue-greens and greens, both on the background and the character, but choose to flip them so that the mermaid would pop better to the background. To give the background that little extra I choose to use some embossing paste for some waves. If you want to see how it all came together watch the video below.

Jr Hatter Grape | Bending Sentiments

Hi Guys!

Sometimes the inspiration for my cards is the stamp I’m using, this time it’s Jr Hatter Grape, she is completely adorable and I really wanted to give her the colours of red grapes, because red grapes are the best! And as I didn’t really have any papers in that colours I decided to make this card really clean and simple. I did however find a sheet of cardstock that matched perfectly to the colour scheme I’ve chosen, so I made my card base out of it so that I got a pop of purple framing the card.

I didn’t have the perfectly bent sentiment for the project, but I had one that I could bend. If you want to see how I did it and the rest of the card and colouring watch the video below. And don’t forget to come and join us in the new Little Miss Muffet Stamps challenge, the theme is Any Things Goes.

Served up!

Hi Guys!

This idea have been spinning at the back of my head since I got the Summer Beach Kit and I’ve been dying to show you. I felt that the paper with the circle almost made a whirlpool, and of course the ice creams and the cups from the Served Up! stamp set together with the hippo from the same set would make a real fun card.

With this card I have a few colouring tips for you, the first is that if you don’t have the colour you want to match, try layering colours like I have done by basing the Hippo in E00 before going on with the grey. The second one is that you can use small dots in the same colours that you have shaded to add both texture and another level of shading. My third tip is if you combine your images with pattern papers from I pattern paper pack you can pick colours from the whole pack not only the paper you are using and still know that they will go together.

Raccoon Friends – Ombre Diecut Sentiment

Hi Guys!

Have you seen these adorable racoons from Little Miss Muffet Stamps? When I saw them I knew I just needed to get them on a card, when setting them up to print an idea starting to form. So I flipped one of them so that could look like a little group, but I decided to print them one at a time and build a scene after. Then I looked on google to the see how a raccoon really looks like, and well I decided that I didn’t want just grey raccoons, instead I picked a group of somewhat neutral colours, and one colour that would really pop.

It wasn’t until I realized that I had the friends die from MFT that the whole card came together. I decided to use my copics to give it an ombre effect, and there for I choosed to use the neenah cardstock as my card base, and for the die as neenah is a pretty good paper to colour on (even tho I prefer the Make It Colour Blending Paper, which I don’t use for my cardbases). I put together a little video showing my colouring and how I put the card together, hope you enjoy. Oh and don’t forget to join the Little Miss Muffets Challanges in the chance to win some goodies!

Childhood summer!

Hi Guys!

Summer means so many different things for so many different people. For me when I think of summer I think of when I was little, the last day of school before the summer vacation. The dew in the grass, being all dressed up heading to church to sing for the parents. The smells and the sun. So when I saw the flower girl collection I knew that they would be perfect for my CAS card for the theme of summer.

I’ve chosen a very soft color-scheme, to match a dress I had as I child. I was a blond and blue eyed girl but thought that brown would be better suited for my Isabella. I did some distress ink smooching on a small piece of watercolour cardstock and die-cut the hi from that.

To keep with the soft feeling I choose to stamp the summer in a brown ink that matched her hair. To tie it all together I did some splatters onto my die-cut background with the same distress inks I’ve used for the sentiment and a little bit of bronze ink. For those finishing touches I added a couple of enamel dots to balance up the card.

So now it’s your turn to join in, come and have some clean and simple fun with us!

I heard you’re… amazing!

Hi Guys!

It’s Saturday again, and we all know what that mean! I have a new card for you with a Little Miss Muffet Stamp stamp, today I’m using sweet little Celeste Amberglow Dreamer. And with her sitting on a cloud I got another chance to use MFTs Stitched Cloud Edges again, just love those dies. The sentiment is from one of the first Simon Says Stamp stampsets I’ve got, and I did a little surgery on it as I wanted the finished art of the sentiment to be inside of the card. And instead of using rest of the stamp I used an amazing MFT die. Hope you like it and remember, all of you are amazing! And don’t forget to join the Little Miss Mffet Challenge
