Bundle Of Joy

Hi Guys! A couple of weeks ago some friends of mine got a new little baby, and I just had to send them a card. When they got married two years ago I used a couple in the geeky series, so of course I just needed to use one of the baby images in the same series. I decided to crop the image with some heart dies to “zoom” in on the baby and parents, to make them the focal point. I paired it with a die cut in the same size to get dimension with out making the card bigger. This is a smaller card, and I’ve been on a smaller card fix lately, it’s so fun working with clean and simple and small.

All the MFT Stamps challenges!

Hi Guys!

I love challenges, they make me think in new ways. I love combining challenges, that makes it just a little bit harder. My Favorite Things have two challenges, the sketch challenge and the colour challenge so I decided to join both and while doing that use a whole bunch of my new fun supplies.

One of the things that I got last week was all of the sample packs of paper, I love sample packs because not only do I get to try the paper it self and see thickness and tooth, I love colouring with pencils on coloured cardstock so the tooth of the paper is important, but also I get to see all the colours which can be hard to see on a computer screen and now I can see what colours I like and that I feel I need more of. But who am I kidding, I want all of the papers! It’s also awesome for a colour challenge as then I can compare the colours directly and I can use bits and pieces for my cards.

Birthday Wishes

Hi Guys!

I’ve been dying to play with the new Distress Crayons, I’ve watched every little youtube video I could on the subject, kind of figuring out what I could or could not do with them. So when they dropped in in my mail a couple of days ago I just couldn’t wait! I really bought them for my Mixed Media Journal but thought I would see how I could use them on my cards.

At the moment I’m totally crazy about using all of the techniques, trying out everything and I hope that you enjoy coming on that journey with me. The colour scheme for this card is directly picked out of one of the Distress Crayons packages, I so loved how they looked next to each other and I just had to play. Hope you enjoy the video.

You’re out of this world!

Hi Guys!

This is a card that has been in my mind for weeks and I finally got to make it. I tried recording a video on it last week, but ended up not liking the end result. So I let it grew in my mind for a couple of days and retried it this weekend. I really like how it turned out! Had a lot of fun playing with the background, I wasn’t sure it would work but I just had to try, and this is something I recommend you al to do to. Not sure if it works? Try it, it’s only paper and paint (or ink in this case). My best work has come from trying new things, and seeing if I can make the material work in my favour.

This card is using the same stamp set that I used over at My Favorite Things Stamp Blog last week, didn’t know I was guesting? Hope on over to their blog and/or youtube and watch my video, I tried a very fun three layered stenciling technique.

Polychromos:
Black, White, Burnt Sienna, Sanguine, Terracotta, Payne’s Grey, Cold Grey II, IV, V, Silver, Middle Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Blue-Greenish, Helioblue-Reddish, Cadmium Red, Pale Geranium Lake

Also my order from Simon Says Stamp just came in so had to try to play a little with my new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. Do you do that too?

The awesome image I’m using is called Puddle Jack and it’s by Little Miss Muffet Stamps, When I saw him I knew that he needed to be coloured! Btw there is still a challenge going on over Little Miss Muffet Challenges, it’s Anything Goes all you need is an image from Little Miss Muffet and those there are loads of! Come and join in!

Bubbles!

Hi Guys!

This month challenge over at Make It Colourful is Bubbles! You can enter with any creation that contains bubbles and at least one Make It Crafty image, now come and join, you don’t need to make a card, you can colour in any mediums you like and remember at Make It Colourful it’s your creativity that counts. Just come on and play and have some fun, and you can win a gift card to Make It Crafty to buy even more wonderful things!

The card I made today is very simple, well the colouring might not be, but the card itself, and that is because I want the image and the challenge to take center stage. I’ve been wanting to make something with this adorable caterpillar for some time now. The colour-scheme is based on that light blue green to begin with, I just knew I wanted the colours to be as whimsical as I could get them, and then I just picked colours that had the same warmth to them, or in this case coldness. I had a lot of fun creating this, and if you want to see and here more about this creation you can always watch the video below.

Copic:
Caterpillar: RV21, RV25, RV29, V12, FV2, V09
Shrooms & Grass: BG15, BG49, BG78
Shrooms & Bubbles: B01, BG01, BG05, FBG2
Bubble-maker: T8, T6, T4
