Day 5 – 30 Day Coloring Challenge – A Little Castle

Hi Everyone!

We are at day 5 into this challenge, that means we are a sixth of the way through! Todays coloring is a tiny little castle from the Magical Unicorns stamp set by My Favorite Things, this is one of those stamps that doesn’t get to get inked that very often. I kind of concentrate on the main characters and background images and help characters have a tendency to get forgotten! But I saw this little castle and I just new that he needed to get some color (now I feel I should go back and color the rest of the side characters to so they don’t feel that they are left out!)

Youtube Partnership Changes – Why, What, How?

Hi Everyone!

I’ve seen a bunch of call to arms to help save craft-channels from loosing their youtube partnership in the last couple of days and I thought I would make a post/video about what is happening, why it’s happening and what it entails.

First of all I want to thank all of you who are watching my content and commenting, liking and subscribing. Everyone of you means the world to me and I can’t thank you enough. I am not loosing my partnership but I thought I would talk a little bit about why youtube is doing this and what it really entails as there are many misconceptions around it. I’m better with the spoken word than the written so if you are interested about this you can watch the video below. Again thank you all for being here, I love you all!

Day 4 – 30 Day Coloring Challenge – A yellow Unicorn

Hi Everyone!

Another unicorn! This is the last one on the stamp set and as I don’t want to repeat any stamps during the challenge, there will not be any more unicorns. I do have a sort of card tutorial coming up in the next couple of weeks that features a unicorn, but that is outside the challenge. Todays unicorn is coloured in super light yellows and oranges, just because I wanted.

Day 3 – 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Unicorn with sparkle effects

Hi Everyone!

Day 3 and another unicorn! But thought I would step it up another notch and do some sparkle effects. I do have several videos on my channel showing how to do sparkle effects, but you do learn by repetition so here is one more. Hope you are enjoying this month so far! Todays Unicorn is from the same stamp-set as yesterday, Magical Unicorns by My Favorite Things, and it is colored with Copic and a mix of gel pens. You don’t need any fancy gel pens you can take which ever you have at home that matches with your color choices, I am using a mic of Gelly Roll pens and Spica Pens.

If you wanna see all the videos for this challenge you can find the playlist HERE.

Day 2 – 30 Day Coloring Challenge – Unicorn with extra details

Hi everyone!

Are you ready for day two? Today I’m coloring another Unicorn from the Magical Unicorns Stamps-set by My Favorite Things. But I thought I would step it up just a little bit and add some details with a White Gelly Roll pen. The Unicorn today is also colored with copic, the same colors as yesterday but I flipped them giving the Unicorn a blue-green body with “silver” details, as one youtube commenter described it. Happy colouring!

This is day two, you can go HERE if you missed day 1. If you wanna see all the videos for this challenge you can find the playlist over at youtube HERE.

30 Day Coloring Challenge – Tips & Tricks

Hi Everyone!

The 30 Day Coloring Challenge starts today! Kathy from The Daily Marker started this a couple of years ago and this is the 9th one she is hosting. It’s a wonderful challenge just to make you take a little time everyday to color.

I have joined in with every one of them, but it wasn’t until this last one (nr 8th) that I finally was able to finish it completely. You don’t have to do it daily to join in, but if you are like me and like a challenge here are some tips and tricks on how I was able to finish it.

1. Go small

I choose 30 images that was small enough to be finished in 10-15 min. I personally have a hard time to share half done images, there is nothing wrong with sharing half done images is that I personally want to share fully coloured images. So this helped a lot.

2. Choose a theme

Last time I chose Halloween as a theme to help me narrow down my stamp choices, this time around my theme is recently acquired stamps from MFT. Narrowing down the theme ahead of time saves you time for choosing the images and leaves more time to color.

3. Use a comfort medium

I’ve chosen to only do my challenge colouring with copic alcohol markers. This removes a lot of the pressure that I can feel when it comes to color choices and how to use them, copic being one of those mediums that I worked with a lot and is comfortable with. So choose the medium that you are most comfortable with.

4. Have fun and don’t stress about it!

But my biggest tip is have fun and don’t stress about it, it is a challenge, a challenge to take that me time everyday and do something that calms you and makes you happy!

Make It Crafty, Videos

Adding golden details with gouache | For your book nerd friend

Hi everyone!

Todays card and tutorial is definitely for your book nerd friend, Make It Crafty has release a new digital stamp Collection called Sweet Teens and one of the teens is called Bookworm Elora and I just love her! I asked her where she came from and she said Greece, well jokes aside I felt her hair would look great in a dark brown/black so thought a more Mediterranean skin colour would be great, so played around with some different colours and ended up with this. If you’re going to test my new skin colour remember that you can also join the Make It Crafty Colouring Challenge that is going on right now which is, skin!

For the card I picked out one of my few book related stamp-set For Thine Own Shelf by Simon Says Stamp, it’s a wonderful stamp-set with great sentiments but it also have the build your own bookshelf part which is real fun to play with. I stamped the books in a couple of different Hybrid Inks by My Favorite Things onto some Kraft cardstock that I cut out with a stitched rectangular die and mounted on a Chocolate Brown Cardbase. To make everything pop and add a little bit of luxury to the card I then added details with some Winston & Newton Designer Gouache in the color Gold which have a beautiful metallic sheen to it.
