I’ve been wanting to play around with the Simon Says Card Kit for awhile now but as I haven’t got any weddings to go to I’ve been a little stuck. But then I realised you don’t need to make a wedding card, instead I made a congratulations card, to congratulate any one on anything. And I thought Pinwheel Ellie would fit perfect.
I’ve been feeling that I’ve been standing still when it comes to my colouring, I like how it looks but I want it to look better! So I’ve taken a step back and read loads of tutorials and looked at alot of art videos, and today I feel I’ve taken a step forward. I know that I have to work on my backgrounds, but I still like my end result. This is a new stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps called Jr. Sunbonnet Adventure. I loved colouring her up, trying out my new learnt knowledge.
With the colouring challenge over at Make It Colourful being portraits I’ve been colouring loads of them, and using Zoes Colouring Faces tutorial I feel that I’m getting better at it. I just love the tutorials as it helps with colouring in any medium and mixed in with all the information there is always loads of small tips and tricks about colouring in general. Todays Portrait is actually a full size character that I have cut in half and then added a border to, it is called Amelia’s Puppy and isn’t it adorable! And if you buy the tutorial she is one of the stamps that is included. I also added a background that looked liked the background in school photos back when I was little, in the 80s.
Sometimes you just need to send a hug to someone that is to far away to hug in person, then a handmade card can be perfect. I really love this new image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, it’s versatile and makes a perfect hug card.
Spring is in full bloom here in Sweden and that makes me reach for my more flowery stamps. This one is a rubber stamp from DoveArt Studio called Flower Pail. Ain’t it gorgeous?
I’m a little punk girl inside, sometimes it shows(like my pink hair), sometimes it don’t (I just love clothes from Old Navy). But some of my favourite images from Make It Crafty is these punk and me girls, and I just couldn’t choose one for the portrait challenge over at Make It Colourful, so I took three. Why don’t you just come and join us? If you are a little bit insecure I recommend the new Faces tutorial that Zoe put together it’s awesome!
I just completely adore this image, it reminds me of a girl trying on her mothers clothes, or crown in this case. I got a very sweet and innocent vibe from the image so I choose to colour her in pastels.
The card for today is a traveling one, would work great to send to someone that is going to travel, is moving or just got a new bike. The image I’m using is called Miss Lilly on Bike, isn’t she adorable? For todays colour scheme I’ve been taking my inspiration from a pattern paper pack from My Mind’s Eye, it had bikes on the papers and that was what drew me to the papers. I didn’t end up using that specific paper but I really like the colours.
I love colouring hair, and as it is the challenge this month over at Make It Colourful I thought I would colour another hair intensive character. Today I’m colouring Fleta the Unicorn, I just love unicorns and Fleta is one of my favourite ones.
I’ve got another tag for you, this time using Celeste Amberglow Cupcake Party, When I started on her I thought I would see if I could get her to look a little bit asian, and I think it worked out ok. Feel I need to play more with different skin colours and different face expressions.
