Some of the DT projects I do is for specific characters for specific times, usually around releases. This card and video have been laying for awhile as I did it for a specific day and when it was all done I realised I was supposed to use another image! And then I never go around to edit the video. But I really love how this card came out, it’s one of those cards that just came together the way I wanted. Hope you like it too!

Since I saw this little guy I knew I just needed to make a card with him, I just love lions. Now he’s a father’s day lion but you can use him for any day cards. This card is just one of those little love notes I made for my wonderful boyfriend to show him some appreciation.

Welcome to the Paper Nest Dolls June New Release Blog Hop.

As you might have noticed my new favourite thing is to create backgrounds, it’s a way to take my colouring to the next step, learning how to create depth into beautiful scenes. My interest into scenes was sparked in late fall 2013 when I found my way back to he awesome stamps by Make It Crafty, they have so many beautiful background stamps, both already created scenes but also sets so you can create your own. Todays creation is made with one of the newly released scenes and it also showcases the new colouring challenge over at Make It Colourful which it’s light through the trees. Come join us and play you too! Todays creation is not a card, instead I took the image and added a little stand on the back side so it could stand on its own.

You might have seen that I love pairing the Little Miss Muffet Stamps with Doodlebug Designs papers, so when I found out that the Simon Says Stamps June Card Kit contained some new Doodlebug Design papers I just jumped with joy. I love how the strong colours in the papers just work perfect with this image. And by the way there is a challenge going on over at the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog, and the theme is “Let’s get stitched”, so I knew I had to dig out my stitched dies too!

I just loved colouring up sweet Dream Charlie, and when I saw the cup she was holding I knew that I wanted to pair her with some Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers. I had a lot of fun using the hex chart to find that perfect blue for the bow in her hair.

When I sat down to create this card, I didn’t really know where to start. Then this image basically just jumped up at me shouting me, me, me. So of course I had to oblige this adorable character. It wasn’t until I went to choose videos to thumbnail at the end-screen that I realised that I seem to make a loads of videos pairing these papers with characters from Little Miss Muffet Stamp! Not that it’s anything wrong with that, they just seem to be perfect for each other.

You will be seeing loads of images with coloured backgrounds from me for awhile, it is so fun and it develops me as a designer. Not only am I learning a lot about distance and depth but while colouring I get loads of ideas. I’ve been in a creative low for awhile and it feels so wonderful to get back that inspiration that made me start to craft and colour. Todays card is with a image from Little Miss Muffet Stamp called Maurice Says Cheese, and he inspired me to make a Paris themed card, again, and I haven’t even been to Paris! And he fits perfectly in with this weeks theme for the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog which is Anything Goes.
