You get a bonus video from me today, as I recorded this just before my little impromptu hiatus. I know that it is a halloween tag, but I loved how it turned out so decided to share it any way. Also it was made for the last challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps which was tags, well this weeks is Any Thing Goes so it fits it also.
I’m so excited today! One of my favourite artist, Sakuems, have started selling her own colouring book. And she asked if I wanted to feature it in one of my videos! Of course I said yes, and she is also offering all of you a 5% off coupon code to her complete etsy store, the coupon code is CRAFTYBIT5 and is valid until 30th of november. I found Sakuems on youtube years ago and have been following her and her creations ever since. The colouring book comes both as a digital version or a printed version, I’ve used the digital version (that comes in black, sepia or grey), and choose one of the smaller characters for my card. What I like with the digital version is that I can print as many as I want on my favourite paper, and I can also size them as I want. There are both smaller designs and big full-page one. You get them as JPEGs and I’ve actually had the opportunity to colour one of them earlier called Black Angel , which you find on my instagram. Go check her out! Here is her Youtube, https://www.etsy.com/shop/sakuems, Facebook
I’m back with another card for you, today I’m using Owl Always Love You. That cute little owl matched perfectly with the Give Thanks paper pad by American Crafts and the card sort of made itself. I had to add some bling tho, you can never go wrong with some bling.
Happy Monday! I’m a bit wacko, I just love Mondays, it’s like I every week get a new start, a new opportunity to make things better in the world. I also love Lawn Fawn, it’s my new secret addiction, I just want them all! One of my favourite thing about them is that you can mix and match the stamp sets just as you want, and play around with all the little detail images. I have another Halloween card for you today, a shaker card, I’ve been having these cool sequins in my stash for years (they are from a table decorating pack), and I knew that I needed to make a couple of cards with them this year. Also I really wanted to use the Alpacka stamp, it’s supposed to be a winter stamp, but with the accessories from the holiday party animal she/he turns into a trick or treating witch/wizard!
So I got a second post for you today, it’s my project for the Little Miss Muffet DT. And with all the halloween that I’ve been doing this week I thought I would take a small break and concentrate on Christmas. It’s less then 100 days before it’s here and I only got two christmas cards in my stash! The image I use today is called Peace Dangle and I think it meshes two great things from two different world, the smallness of a card image together with the details in the images in the colourings books I see out there.
So we have come to the end of the series, for this time. I will surely do this again, maybe for christmas or spring, picking another group of images that I love and feel could need a second chance. Today I have for you my absolut favourite of the bunch, Mini Medusa. She’s stinking adorable and also one of the ones I felt turned out best already in the Then card. But there where a few things I could improve on, her face got some more dimension, and I added more shadows amongst the snakes on her head to make them look more dimensional.
The adorable little mini montza I’m playing with today is Mini Frankenstein! Things I’ve learnt since colouring him last time is many, not that I’m not in love with my previous card, but there been a few improvments. His screws got som rust on them, his clothes got deeper creases, his forehead is bigger and he got a little nose! I also tried a new colour combination with his skin, I really love it but it was little bit hard to get the right blend, but nothing the tip to tip method couldn’t handle.
Hi Guys! We are now halfway through the little mini series (mini in so many ways). Today we have come to the Mini Headless Horseman. This time I have concentrated my “improvements” to smoother blend on the pumpkin head, better dimension on the pants and again that lighter lines to give more definition when colouring darker tones. I’m also working with a little more colours. I also want to mention that I’m really proud over my then images, I still think they look great but I just wanted to see if I could use what I learned over the years to sort of kick them up a notch. And the reason behind this series is to show me that I progressed, but also show others that it is possible to learn and develop and that we all need to start somewhere. A tip for everyone who gets un-secure of their talent, go to your favourite cardmakers/colourists blog, most of them have a possibility to look at older posts, usually in the sidebar. Go and look at their first posts. You will find that we all need to start somewhere.
Todays then and now is making a big difference, I choose a whole other colour scheme, going from a fiery to a more ethereal character. Things I talk about in the video is the tip to tip technique and overlaying colours over grey. And here is the then and now images.
