Let’s Have A Monster Party!

Hi Guys!

So I’ve been watching loads of art youtube, seeing these wonderful creators create something just starting with pen and paper is inspiring! One of the things that really caught my eye was different coloured outlines, and I thought Hey! I can do that with stamps.

So I started out with what is called No-Line Colouring, it’s been around for a couple of years now and it’s something my friend Zoe started. The idea is to stamp in a very light ink and when you colour the image the lines sort of disappear. But it was coloured lines we wanted, right? Well after colouring my images with my copics, I went over the lines with faber castell polychromos, if you have multiliners in different colours you could use that, but I sort of loved the softness of using the coloured pencils. You could also use ink in different colours, if you have that but then it would be harder to get all the differences, like having blue around the spots on the purple monster.

I do have a small warning tho, if you use the copic markers on top of the pencils you will “melt” them and that can add residue on your marker tips and you might need to change them. So I always do the coloured pencils last so I don’t damage my copic nibs.

Acetate Challenge

Hi Guys!

This months clean and simple card challenge over at Make It Crafty is Acetate! And even though I use it in my card often, love doing shakers, at first it was a little challenging, to figure out what to do. So I started with the image, which I did in two settings as I just didn’t know what to use for her hair! But I do love how it came out. When it came to acetate my fellow DTs had loads of ideas, you should really head over to the challenge post and while you are there join in! This month you can win chipboard frames! After getting the images finished I just knew I needed to use my flower embossing folder to make the background, and it worked great with acetate too.

Some Coffee | Spot Stencilling

Hi Guys!

I love these characters from Little Blue Button Stamps, I even think I would go so far as saying that they are my favourite characters of Olga, the designer behind Little Blue Button Stamps. For me they have a “fashion” feel over them, and they get me thinking of the images you see on the cover of a clothing pattern. I love colouring them in sweet and soft pastels. For this card I wanted to try something that I have done just a couple of times, and did on the “sister” card to this, that is Spot Stencilling. The idea is to use colour and a little bit of stencilling to draw focus to the image. How I did that you can see in the video below.

Skin: E50, E00, E21, E11, E04, R30, R32

Happy Purr-thday

Hi Guys!

I don’t know how many times I said this, but I love challenges! And I love combining challenges, the more things I need to but together to work in a card I see the more excited I get. My Favorite Things always have two challenges going at one time, a sketch challenge and a color challenge. Today I combine the active challenges into one card. The tip in my video today is how I make a diecut longer by partial diecutting.

Hello Summer!

Hi Guys! I’m a total Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy fan and when I saw that Barbara (owner of Little Miss Muffet Stamps) had made some Towel Day Images I knew that I needed to make something with them. Sadly I didn’t have time to get them done to Towel Day that was this week but I thought that they could be used for other occasions, like a summer card, he does have a bath towel with him. And as it now happens, Simon Says Stamps flickr challenge is Summertime Fun, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone. The colour scheme on Douglas is a very neutral brown, white and blue one. That makes him easier to place on any cards you want, today I wanted to use the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid blues as I feel they are very summery. With that I choose to use the Flip Flop Season stamp set by Simon Says Stamp to make the card even more summery and fun! The sentiment and the flip flops are stamped on different kind of papers and in the video I show you how the copics blend differently on the two papers. Hope you’ll enjoy the card and the video. Btw if you haven’t seen it yet, you can now subscribe to a newsletter so every time I post a new card you will get an email in your inbox.
