Sorry for disappearing on you like that, my lupus gotten worse so loads of joint pain and it takes me a little time to accept it. But I’m back, hopefully. This is a card I made a couple of weeks ago and shared over at the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends facebook page during the fun Make It Crafty weekend, but I never got to the part of editing the video. But here it is!

This card is made with another mermaid! This time I wanted to try out some new colour schemes for the tail, so I went onto google and just googled fishes, there is so many awesome fishes out there! I choose one that was a little more complex than that I usually have, where it was all about blending between the colour families. I tried out the combinations on a separate paper before committing, and I really love how it turned out.

This was a $1 digi during the weekend, Zoe does the $1 digi colour along over at the Make It Crafty facebook page, so if you haven’t joined the group you really should! There is always something fun going on!

Todays card came out of a want of using some of my distress inks that I haven’t used in awhile. I love making smootching backgrounds as they comes out differently everytime, I love trying to figure out what colours to use and watching the texture come to life just by smootching some cardstock into some ink. My favourite cardstock to use right now is the Canson Montval 300 gsm, it takes the ink in a different way and if you use small amounts of water with the ink you get this cool “dry” texture when smootching it.

Also I really wanted to use the little monster from Monster Party, so when I saw the Caught A Bug? Sentiment from Message In A Bottle stamp set I knew I just needed to trap him in a bottle, and have a bunch of his friends on the outside trying to help him out.

Todays card is for the Make It Crafty CAS Challenge, this is the last one some come and join in and make us go out with a bang! You have the opportunity to win a cardboard ferries wheel! My card for the challenge is a slider card, I have made my sliders myself but there is dies out there that can help you to do those nice canals. If you have pennies (or some kind of metallic circles in the same size) I would use those instead of the diecut circles I used as that weight in the coins will help your fishes to move better, sadly we son’t have that size of coins in sweden. I’ve been aching to try out my new printer with water colouring, having bought a new epson that uses the waterproof durabrite inks, that actually works with copics too! As it is a colour printer I knew I just had to print the lines in colour. So I printed them in dark brown to make it soft and then coloured it in distress ink. The image I used is called Dream Catcher and is part of the latest release for Little Blue Button Stamps. I also dipped in my new liquitex ink for the copper beads.

I’ve been asked to do a skin tutorial, and while I’m working on that (which will take some time) I thought I would do a mini version. So in todays card video I’m doing some real time colouring of skin with some commentary and then I also show you how I put the card together. The stamp I’m using today is a newly released digital stamp by Little Miss Muffet Stamp called Tanzen, she is a polka dot pals character which means she comes with out nose and mouth, so today I’m trying out a new way of giving her dimension with out adding in those features. I’ve recently coloured my own hair turquoise so just had to colours her that colour too.

You know me I love me mermaids, I could colour mermaids all day long! So todays video is another mermaid by Make It Crafty, but today I wanted to make her have a darker skin tone and also a beautiful grey/purple hair. If you want to see the rest of my mermaid videos you can see them in my playlist that I made for you mermaid lovers out there. Todays background is inspired by a whole bunch of artist out there, the idea of framing the image with our harsh lines which makes the image pop more than if I would have had harsh delimiters. I had so much fun colouring this one, experimenting with both colours and background, looking forward to doing many more.

Sometimes a card comes to life when you just want to colour a specific image with some very specific colours. I’ve been on a teal and peach kick, just love colouring with those colours. And ofcourse I had to do it on the new Driffoxie as I just love that litte hairy dragon/unicorn/thingy, isn’t it adorable!
