Snow Much Thanks

Hi!

I’ve got a lot of craft resolutions this year, things like trying out new stamps, techniques and products, taking courses to learn new ways to be creative and use the stuff I get. One part of this is to use my Simon Says Stamp card kits more than I’ve done the past months. I’ve also going to join in with more challenges, yet another way to try new things. I will also be creating more videos, instead of 1-2 videos a week, there will be at least 3, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I hope you join me this year, I think it’s going to be an awesome and creative one.

So this cards does a few of the resolutions in one. It’s based on the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Inky backgrounds, also it uses the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit from 2015 and I’m using my distress inks, which I am learning about in the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 class over att Online Card Classes.

Distress Inks:
Dusty Concord
Chipped Saphire
Faded Jeans
Broken China
Tumbled Glass
Evergreen Bough
Pine Needles

Magnolia – Make It Colourful January Challenge

Another month, another challenge. But this challenge is not just another challenge it is an awesome challenge, Zoe comes up with the most wonderful challenges, challenges that challenge you creatively and make you use every little bit of your artsy fartsy gene. This months challenge over at Make It Craftys challenge blog Make It Colourful is Watercolour Effect. You don’t need to use watercolours, you can use any medium, just get that watercolour effect. I’ve chosen to use my distress inks (I’ve used them too seldom and this makes me want to take them out to play even more), and I had a marvellous time. I’m using the new Magnolia flower stamp which is simply perfect for this challenge, with the soft colours that the flowers usually comes in.

Distress Inks:
Bundled Sage
Weathered Wood
Milled Lavender
Spun Sugar

There is so many beautiful and cute stamps out there and I want them all!

After buying a bunch of digis I went to see if they had any challenges to play with, and wasn’t I surprised when I saw that they had a DT call. Gorgeous Flowers Blooming just for you – Make It Crafty Blog Hop

Happy New Year! We hope you have had a wonderful time over the holidays and wish you an amazing 2015! Today we are excited to be sharing a new release of beautifully illustrated flower stamps from Make it Crafty. They are intricate and delicate with lots of detail and are the perfect choice for many occasions. These gorgeous new flowers are available in both digital and rubber and the rubber stamps also come with a hand written sentiment, which of course you could use between all the different flowers.

I got to play with the Lilies, and as it is a sympathy card I wanted it to be extra clean. So I went with white on white, but to get a little bit of colour and sparkle I used a border stamp that I embossed with some yellow gold embossing powder. I coloured the Lilies with my copic markers and then cut them out and put them on foam squares just to get a natural” shadow behind them.

You can find all the new stamps here:

Sweet Chester

Sometimes you have an idea how your card is going to end up looking, but when you’re finished it looks completely different. This was one of those cards, I was thinking about pairing Sweet Chester by Little Miss Muffet Stamps with some lovely patterned paper, but then I was digging around for some matching cardstock and found this white wood grained cardstock from Simon Says Stamp that I’ve been meaning to use for months. I really love how clean and simple the card came out.

Make It Colourful December Challenge – Glistening Snow

This month challenge over at Make It Colourful is Glistening Snow, and you know me I love a challenge. I more of a character colourist, so doing scenes is kind of out of my comfort zone, but I must say I love to challenge myself. Sky: B32, B34, B37
House: E42, E43, E44
