Peace Dangle

Hi Guys!

So I got a second post for you today, it’s my project for the Little Miss Muffet DT. And with all the halloween that I’ve been doing this week I thought I would take a small break and concentrate on Christmas. It’s less then 100 days before it’s here and I only got two christmas cards in my stash! The image I use today is called Peace Dangle and I think it meshes two great things from two different world, the smallness of a card image together with the details in the images in the colourings books I see out there.

Then & Now – Halloween #6

Hi Guys!

So we have come to the end of the series, for this time. I will surely do this again, maybe for christmas or spring, picking another group of images that I love and feel could need a second chance. Today I have for you my absolut favourite of the bunch, Mini Medusa. She’s stinking adorable and also one of the ones I felt turned out best already in the Then card. But there where a few things I could improve on, her face got some more dimension, and I added more shadows amongst the snakes on her head to make them look more dimensional.

Scales: YG61, YG63, YG67
Skin: E50, E00, E21, E11, E04

Then & Now – Halloween #5

Hi guys!

The adorable little mini montza I’m playing with today is Mini Frankenstein! Things I’ve learnt since colouring him last time is many, not that I’m not in love with my previous card, but there been a few improvments. His screws got som rust on them, his clothes got deeper creases, his forehead is bigger and he got a little nose! I also tried a new colour combination with his skin, I really love it but it was little bit hard to get the right blend, but nothing the tip to tip method couldn’t handle.

Copic:
Skin: BG90, YG61, YG63, YG67
Screws: W0, W2, W4, E04, E07
Eyes: R14, E07, R35, R59, B63(shading the whites)
Shirt: E40, E41, E42, E43

Then & Now – Halloween #4

Hi Guys!
We are now halfway through the little mini series (mini in so many ways). Today we have come to the Mini Headless Horseman. This time I have concentrated my “improvements” to smoother blend on the pumpkin head, better dimension on the pants and again that lighter lines to give more definition when colouring darker tones. I’m also working with a little more colours. I also want to mention that I’m really proud over my then images, I still think they look great but I just wanted to see if I could use what I learned over the years to sort of kick them up a notch. And the reason behind this series is to show me that I progressed, but also show others that it is possible to learn and develop and that we all need to start somewhere. A tip for everyone who gets un-secure of their talent, go to your favourite cardmakers/colourists blog, most of them have a possibility to look at older posts, usually in the sidebar. Go and look at their first posts. You will find that we all need to start somewhere.

Then & Now – Halloween #2

Hi guys!

Let’s continue with our little Then & Now series with another Mini Monzta, this time it’s cute little Mini Dracula. The original card is also from 2013, the same card serie I did then. The video goes into a little bit more on what things I thought about that I wanted to improve on from the previous image, but mostly it’s how to colour black and don’t make the different black layers disappear into each other. But with no further ado, here are the then and now images.

Copic:
Skin: BG90, W2, BG93
Eyes: R14, R37, R59

Then & Now – Halloween #1

Hi!

This is the first post and video for my new series, Then & Now and as I love Halloween I start with that theme. The Then & Now series is to show me and you how far you can come in your colouring with a little bit of focused practising. For the first videos I’m using the Mini Monstaz by Make It Crafty, the then image is from back in 2013, before I was a member on the Make It Crafty team, I think I used my winnings from winning the Make It Colourful Challenge to buy them. The biggest different is in in the folds and in the skin, but I’ve improved leagues since then.

So what is focused practising? Well for me it’s to take a part of an image, like folds/pleats and look at courses, youtube and photos to learn better to colour that part, and then practise, practise, practise. Colouring daily will make you better, colouring daily with focus makes that go so much faster. All my videos will have small tips and ideas all through out the series, telling you what I’ve learned and how I used that specific information for the card I’m making.

Breezy Buttercup – CAS Copic Colouring Card Tutorial

Hi!

The Challenge this month over at Make It Colourful is the opposite of last month, it’s bright colours. Well this card started out in that direction and the flowers are very bright, but when it came to colour her hair I just stopped. My plan was to make it bright blue, had some pattern papers that would match perfectly with her, but she said no! Does your stamp talk to you sometimes? Well mine was very opinionated, and I think I sat and stared at her for at least 15 min before giving in. And I really love how she turned out. This card is still a valid entry for the challenge, even tho it’s on the edge and for you who also are card makers the challenge for the CAS challenge over at Make It Crafty this month is also bright colours. You can use one image/card for both challenges if you want!
